Black Hole Recorderは、最新のブラックホール理論に基づき、遠い未来の可能性を空想した人工ブラックホール搭載のプロトタイプです。
addictは、2020年12月に理化学研究所の数理創造プログラム（iTHEMS）が発足した「Useless Prototyping Studio」に外部パートナーとして参画。科学と社会の新しい関係づくりを目的に、”一見役に立たないけれど人の心をインスパイアする”プロトタイプ開発のデザインスタジオとして活動を開始しました。
2021年3月に、第1弾となるBlack Hole Recorderを発表。このプロトタイプは、「ブラックホールの中は、どうなっているのか？」という問いから「ブラックホールが情報を蓄える大容量ストレージになるかもしれない」という遠い未来の可能性を空想した蓄音機型のデバイスです。PR発表会や日本科学未来館で実物展示を行い、科学関心層のみならず幅広い層から注目を集めることに成功しました。

In December 2020, we participated as an external partner in "Useless Prototyping Studio" launched by RIKEN Interdisciplinary Theoretical and Mathematical Sciences Program (iTHEMS). Aiming to build a new relationship with science and the world, we go into action as a design studio making what seems useless, but inspires human's curiosity.
We launched "Black Hole Recorder" as our first project in March 2021. Based on the question "What is the inside of black holes?", we imagined one of the possibilities with an eye to the far future where black holes can be controlled and used as a device to store tons of information and embodied a Gramophone-shaped prototype. We held a press release presentation and an exhibit in Miraikan (The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation). Overall, succeeded in getting attention not only from people who are science savvy, but also from general public broadly.
